Meet Our Owner...

Dana Cupples is the Owner of A Place to Grow. She received an Elementary Education degree from Clarion University and a Special Education degree from Duquesne University. Before opening the center in 2002, Dana was a teacher for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. She and her son, Connor, reside in the Plum Borough area.

Meet Our Director...

Terry DeMoss has been the Director of A Place to Grow since the opening in 2002. She is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and previously taught Kindergarten, at a private school in the New Kensington area for ten years. Terry was awarded a scholarship from the Child Care Institute and earned her CDA (Child Development Associate) in May of 2006. She and her husband Rick have raised two children, Julie and Jared.

Meet Our Assistant Director...

Sue Smith is our Assistant Director. In 2004, she joined the staff at A Place to Grow as the teacher of our older toddlers. As the center grew and the need for an Assistant Director became necessary, Sue was promoted to Assistant Director in 2008. She attended both Westmoreland Community College and the University of Pittsburgh. Sue obtained her CDA in 2009 having been awarded a full scholarship through the T.E.A.C.H. program.
